OUR COMMITMENTS

It is up to each generation not only to carry on the meaningful ancestral practices, but also to innovate in bringing greater care to our environment, giving thus a greater expression to our wines.

Exploiting the richness of our terroir.

Together, we have refined our understanding of our terroir.  Before each planting, we carry out our soil pits, digging down to 3 metres and we monitor the soil so as to adapt our rootstocks and the appropriate grape varieties.

Climate change is also impacting on our choices: the Cabernet-Franc, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon allow us to produce fresher and supple wines, with less alcohol.

Preserving the soil

Each year, we improve our actions in the vineyard. Grass-cover is a practice that we have formalised from the 4th leaf onwards, so as to maintain the soil structure and to allow water penetration, thus limiting erosion.

We enrich our soils with natural amendments for their balance.
We give the soil a rest period of 3 to 5 years before replanting, for its good health.

Under the rows, we mechanically work the soil.  We invest in ultra-precise spraying equipment to continually reduce the input doses.

Beyond our vineyards, we give much energy maintaining and caring for our woods, slopes, water points, hedges.  This ecological system is the equivalent to our cultivated area across all our properties.  It completely characterises our environment.

A shared commitment

All of this would not be conceivable without a great team. Modestly, an end-of-year meal, a day out, a box of novelties, these are the ways for us to to say thank you to that team.  The strategy and its results are well-known to all. This is what probably enables us to keep this stable team in place, strengthening its skills and its ties.

And we would like to assess all this commitment, to challenge ourselves.  To do this, we have achieved the certifications for Haute Valeur Environnementale, as well as the Terra Vitis, whose approach goes beyond the environment by integrating the social and economic dimension.
